This term, we went on a day trip to Rapaki Marae. When we arrived, we were welcomed onto the marae with a traditional pōwhiri. We sang E te Tau to the mana whenua of the marae.
During the trip, I learnt not to be shy. My favourite part about the marae visit was going to the beach because we were finding seaglass. The most challenging part of the day was saying my mihi because remembering the words was hard. Overall, my experience was fun. I loved looking for the crabs.
Resilience: I showed resilience by looking for crabs, I kept looking sometimes it took a while to find one.
Integrity: I showed integrity by not talking when the teacher was talking.
Success: I felt successful when I paid attention to the teacher and didn’t distract anyone.
Empathy: I showed empathy by being nice to my friend when he couldn’t find any crabs.
In Maths, we have been learning how to slide, flip and turn.
My picture shows trees
I have used slide.
Today we had a visit from Sam and Harry from the space dome
Something I enjoyed was going inside because they called it a “blueberry”. Something I learnt was that one of the planets has thick clouds.
I have been going to friendship bracelet making for 4 sessions. The first week we made a spiral ladder, this one was easy to make. The second session I made a line pattern, this was also easy to make. The third session we made chevron pattern and I found it tricky. I had to show resilience and keep trying. My favourite bracelet was the spiral ladder and I liked the colours.
